About Suzanne:
I am an award-winning senior reporter with the Social Newsgathering Team at NBC News, specializing in social media verification and discovery. My work has been featured across NBC platforms including Nightly News With Lester Holt, The TODAY Show, NBC News Digital, Today Digital, MSNBC, NBC News Now, StayTuned, NBC’s local stations and others.
At NBC News, I lead a shift of evening reporters based in New York and Los Angeles to drive NBC’s breaking news coverage across all platforms. I find, verify and report on breaking/trending stories for NBC News, write stories for NBCNews.com and edit pitches and stories for reporters. I also recruit, interview and train interns and reporters, teach newsgathering training and help oversee the NBC News Tips phone line and inbox.
I am a recipient of the 2022 News Emmy Award for Outstanding Live Breaking News coverage for NBC News’ reporting on the January 6th attack on the capitol.
Separately, I am the advisor for St. John’s University’s award-winning student newspaper, the Torch, where I advise students on news coverage, design and ethical issues.
I studied journalism with a minor in government and politics at St. John’s University, where I was the recipient of the Outstanding Journalism Student Award, and served as the Editor-in-Chief of the university’s student newspaper from 2016 to 2018.
In my free time, you can find me with my nose in a book, or cooking something new for my family and friends.
